POWER99 FM Nationwide
Pakistan's flagship Interactive Radio Instruction program for out-of-school children. Curriculum-aligned audio lessons broadcast daily, reaching children who cannot attend formal schooling across 18 UNESCO-designated districts.
Pakistan's first media program working directly with IDPs and Afghan refugees. In partnership with DW Akademie, this initiative trains displaced community members as journalists, giving voice to the unheard across KP and Balochistan.
Once a year, children aged 5 to 12 take over the POWER99 FM studios across Pakistan — as hosts, editors, producers and reporters. They choose the topics, write the scripts, and broadcast live to millions of listeners.
A landmark climate journalism initiative spanning Pakistan's entire Indus River basin — from Gilgit-Baltistan to Sindh. Journalists were trained to report on the climate crisis and 2022 flood devastation using a constructive, community-centred approach.
Pakistan's first school-based, child-led podcast program. Students research, script, record, and publish podcasts on issues that matter to them — developing skills in communication, critical thinking, and leadership alongside technical audio production.
Intensive residential and day camps where children experience the full cycle of radio production. Participants leave with a complete radio magazine programme they have written, produced, and performed — broadcast on Power99 FM.
